North Kent Independent Advocacy Scheme was set up as a "Not For Profit" company in August 2005 by Louise Flatman and Tanya Orchin. The scheme originally provided advocacy to people with learning disabilities but has now evolved into a more generic scheme providing advocacy to vulnerable and socially excluded groups including learning disabilities, mental health and the elderly.

We aim to ensure that our scheme and the service we provide is accessible and fully inclusive and that people can develop self fulfillment and independence. We encourage an inclusive environment where the people with whom we work with can develop their independence and promote their own self advocacy skills regardless of their disability.
